Cairns Historical Society Museum
The Cairns Historical Society makes the history of Far North Queensland accessible for current and future generations. The Society is a not-for-profit Incorporated Association run and managed by volunteers. It houses more than 3,100 books, 23,000 photographs, 2,250 maps and 25,000 documents on local and area history.
2- Cairns Regional Gallery
It comprises 3 floors of elegantly proportioned gallery spaces. Today the Gallery is an elegant fusion of contemporary and heritage, offering international museum standard lighting, security and climate controls. It is one of the few remaining heritage buildings in Cairns.
3- Cairns War Memorial
It is a heritage-listed war memorial. Marble honor rolls bear 142 locals' names from WWI, including two women.
4- St Monica's Old Cathedral
It is a heritage-listed cathedral. St Monica's Old Cathedral is a two-storied, reinforced concrete building with timber floors and gabled roof structure. It is significant as the first Roman Catholic cathedral in Cairns
5- Munro Martin Parklands
Munro Martin Parklands is Cairns' newest premier community gathering place complete with an outdoor performance space. The Parklands boast tropical plantings, vine covered pergolas and arbours and an open-air plaza to encourage passive, casual use of the facility. The venue is also equipped to host a wide range of shows, from full orchestras to music concerts and theatre performances.

Cool Waters Holiday Park is a four star picturesque caravan park in a quiet and convenient area of Cairns. Wildlife is abundant – mountain trout, turtles, colorful birds set against the backdrop of magnificent mountains. The Jurassica Project is dedicated to the protection of threatened wildlife and habitats, by using the Jurassic era and its huge public profile to gain a much larger audience and stir stronger interest in nature and conservation. In addition to Australian flora and fauna, Jurassica will also be home to species from around the world that share the Jurassic link with their Australian counterparts and are also threatened in their native habitat.
8- Cairns Zoom
The Cairns Zoom is the world's first Challenge Ropes Course in a wildlife immersion exhibit, situated in the heart of Cairns City. Test your strength and bravery on more than sixty-five different crossings over two height levels, encompassing a climbing wall, log bridges, tunnels, swinging beer kegs, skateboards, seesaws, cargo nets and more. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the wildlife exhibit including our small bird aviary and reptile enclosures as tropical birds fly above your head through the Dome.
9- Cairns Aquarium
Cairns Aquarium is set to become Cairns largest and newest attraction in one of the World’s most beautiful and sought after travel destinations. With over four million visitors a year to Australia’s tropical North, The Cairns Aquarium will provide a world class venue for seeing and interacting with the incredible plants, animals, and habitats found only in Australia’s Wet Tropics, a region which borders two World Heritage listed environments: The Daintree Rainforest and The Great Barrier Reef.
10- McLeod Street Pioneer Cemetery
It is a heritage-listed cemetery. The cemetery is well maintained, with many of the trees which had caused structural damage to graves having been removed, and an extensive landscape program undertaken. A rotunda has been recently constructed in the centre of the cemetery to display interpretive material. Paths bounded by colourful native plants, leading northeast to McLeod Street and west to Grove Street, have been laid to replicate those existing in 1901. There is a large group of pine trees to the northwest, which will eventually be removed as the acid from the pine needles damages marble.
